This sunny afternoon couldn’t have been a more beautiful day for an engagement session! We may have had a late spring this year, but Vander Park in Davenport was in full bloom! Perfect timing! Laura and Kurt were so much fun and so easy to work with. This couple is tying the knot very soon and this is one wedding that I’m REALLY looking forward to.

For those that don’t know, I am currently a full-time music teacher, but I recently resigned to run my photography business full-time! It’s been a really lonnngggg (and tiring) process of building my business while teaching middle schoolers, but I’m proud to say that Laura and Kurt will be my first wedding as a full-time business owner!

These two absolutely rocked their session at Vander Veer park & the Figge Art Museum and I hope you enjoy a handful of my personal favorites!

2018 still has a few openings & 2019 is booking very quickly! Click here to check your date!

Wow! I am SO glad this was my first 2018 wedding! My nerves are always on overdrive for the first wedding of the year and this one definitely squashed those nerves within minutes of arriving!

Victoria and James are some of the most genuine & laid-back couples I’ve ever met. The moment I met them, I realized that this day was going to be an absolute blast and a joy to document. Their day was full of excitement, HUGE smiles, loving family members and one of the best parties ever (thanks Massetone DJs and Time Well Wasted Party Bus!) This type of wedding-day is what I wish for all of my couples. Weddings (and the months/days leading up to it) can be a whirlwind of stress and nerves, but Victoria and James were so great! The whole day was very “go with the flow” and turned out so perfectly.

The day started off at the beautiful St. John’s Methodist in Davenport with a reception following at Stoney Creek in Moline.

I always feature some of my favorite images on my blog from each wedding . . . but this wedding? Holy smokes! There were far too many favorites, so stay tuned for part 2 of this blog a little later!

If there’s one element of photographing people that I love the most, it’s the candid moments.

Those moments when people are unaware that their photo is being taken and are just being . . .  real. In my mind, the candid moments are where the heart and soul of photography dwells. Candid moments aren’t always perfect, but that is what I love most about them. Many candid images come about by luck, some are from my dedicated second shooters, and some are definitely a matter of being fast on my feet with my settings.

2017 was filled with some of the best candid images thus far. I made it a goal to work harder to capture my clients’ spirits and tell their stories. After all, wedding photography is a story and wouldn’t be complete without capturing the fun, the emotions and those random moments that say 1000 words.

Please enjoy my favorites from 2017. It was hard to pick . . . and I’m certain I probably missed some, but these are the ones that either hit me right in the feels, made me laugh or simply captured those in-between moments that are inevitable on a wedding day.

Images are in no particular order, although the very first few are definitely my favs!

Wow.

2017 was an amazing year! It was the busiest wedding year yet and I had the honor of working with many amazing Quad Cities couples, as well as my very first destination wedding in Hilton Head, South Carolina! Not only did all of these weddings turn out amazingly perfect, but I have a lot of new people I can call friends.

Now that it is 2018 I am really looking forward to a new year and photographing new Cadenza Photo Imaging couples. Wedding photography is something that I am so passionate about. I’ve pushed myself and my work to the max this year and at times, it’s seriously been challenging. My goal is always to focus on telling my clients’ stories, because a wedding is one of the rare opportunities that family and friends are all together. This is an important event that deserves amazing documentation. I am very much in love with candid moments (expect a blog on that soon) but I always enjoy creating images for clients that are bold, unexpected and capture how that particular moment felt.

The following images are a collection of the bold and colorful. Please enjoy!
