June 3rd, 2016 – Quad Cities Wedding – Cadenza Photo Imaging – Quad Cities Wedding Photographer
Lori and David had such an amazing wedding day!
Their ceremony was held at St. Mark’s and their reception was held at the Freight House, both in Davenport, IA.
Other vendors were:
Wedding dress – A Story Book Ending, DeWitt, IA
Men’s Suits – Men’s Wearhouse, Davenport, IA
Flowers – SAMs Club
Cake & Cupcakes – Banana’s Bakeshop, East Moline, IL
The day began at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, where the wedding party dressed for the big day. It was beautiful and sunny, and thankfully, not too hot! 😉
St. Mark’s is such a beautiful church, and you know me, you know that I’m a sucker for amazing churches.
Every detail was perfect and Lori’s dress was stunning! I have heard so much amazing feedback about “A Storybook Ending” in DeWitt, IA. It truly sounds like the place to go if you want awesome service and a beautiful selection of dresses!
As always, I’m a sucker for moody black & white images.
The wedding colors were especially beautiful and were captured perfectly in the bouquet! And isn’t Lori’s ring beautiful?
Lori and David’s “first look” was nothing short of magical! Such a special moment in such a gorgeous church!
With David being a pastor, I really wanted to capture their love and the church in a unique way. I sure do love how these turned out! Of course, it helps when you have two super photogenic people!
Flats for the bride seem to be the way to go this season!
I just loved all the stained glass in this church! 🙂
Before the ceremony, Lori and David have a sweet moment at the bottom of the stairs. . .
Lori had her son walk her down the aisle, which totally almost made me bawl! Such a great moment!
The ceremony was perfect and the church was filled with all of Lori and David’s family and friends!
Now, on to the reception at the top of the Freight House!
Congrats Lori & David! Thank you so much for trusting me with your special day!
Recently, I had a shoot with the Quad City Brass Quintet. This group is made up of five extremely talented musicians and is a great option for your Quad Cities wedding. As a photographer and musician, I feel that choosing great ceremony music is one aspect that can greatly impact the mood and experience for you and your guests.
Live musicians provide intuitive musical transitions during your ceremony that a CD cannot. As a photographer, I also get to hear guest reactions throughout the day. The weddings that receive the most compliments from the guests are always the ceremonies with amazing musicians.
Please click below to listen to a few examples of the Quad City Brass Quintet. They can provide music for all aspects of your wedding-day and are also available for other events.
To find out more about the Quad City Brass Quintet please see the bio at the bottom of this page.
Here are a few musical excerpts:
Quad City Brass Quintet
The QCBQ has been in existence, under various personnel, since the early 1980’s.
This ensemble has served as musical entertainment for the premier party for Festival of Trees, guest artists for public schools and college artist series (such as William Penn College), various fundraisers (such as Ambrose Wine Tasting Party), outdoor summer events, special holiday music in many venues (such as the Adler Theatre), public artist series (such as Maquoketa Arts Board), numerous church services and weddings both in Iowa and out of state.
An extensive art form and pop catalogue of music for performance is maintained with new purchases and original arrangements regularly. Original music has been written specifically for the QCBQ.
Personal requests for arrangements and special music is regularly done.
The ensemble members total an amazing 285+ years of playing experience in symphonic, theatrical, chamber music and recital contexts. All the players in the QCBQ are sought after players in the region.
Demonstration CD for wedding music is available upon request. Contact Alan Guss at aguss@mchsi.com or call him at 563-209-7180. If necessary, please leave a voice message.
Wow! That’s all I could say as I was sorting through these amazing images! These two are extremely photogenic & are insanely adorable together! They showed up with two amazing outfits & wine. That’s always an awesome combination as far as I’m concerned!
When they arrived, Lizzie said “I don’t know, maybe the wine/picnic thing is cheesy?” and I was basically like, no, we are totally doing this!
I was absolutely obsessed with this awesome wine bottle . . . it made a perfect background for Lizzie’s amazing ring!! I love the detail on this ring and the fact that the diamond is oval shaped; I don’t see too many of those!
I had a ton of fun during this shoot and these two totally rocked every aspect of it. I really enjoyed meeting with them today in my NEW STUDIO SPACE (Eeeeek! more later on that).
My ultimate goal with this session (and every session) is to do something different . . . and of course create EPIC images that aren’t like everyone else. I do believe we accomplished that!!! Nice job Lizzie & Kyle!
Lizzie and Kyle’s Quad Cities wedding will be on October 22nd, 2016.
If you are looking for a unique photography experience, please don’t hesitate to shoot me an e-mail or give me a call. I promise that your wedding photography experience will be awesome from beginning to end & will be the best investment to make for your wedding day!
Quad Cities Wedding Photographer –
A few weeks ago, I had the awesome opportunity to work with Lori & David. This Quad Cities Wedding will be on June 3rd! I am really looking forward to this wedding, as these two are so incredibly photogenic! Can’t you just feel the love here?!!
Lori and David also included their children for this session!
While moving locations, I caught this amazing moment between Lori and her son! I absolutely love this image!!!
Needless to say, I’m very excited for this wedding!! Epic images will be happening, so stay tuned!!
Hey everyone!
If you are getting married soon, you are more than likely a bit overwhelmed. Wedding planning can be stressful. You have so much to book, order, do, etc., and the hardest part is, there are SOOOO many options out there. Some things can be booked late, but photography isn’t one of those things!
When it comes to photography, you need to book early. You especially need to book early when your dates are spring (April & May) or fall (September & October). This often means booking 9-12 months in advance . . . sometimes you can get away with less time, but it honestly comes down to luck.
My best advice is find a photographer you love, (hopefully that’s me ;)), meet them, & book right away. I know it’s a huge decision, but it’s so easy to become overwhelmed with all of the options . . . and when we become overwhelmed, we procrastinate. I hate having to turn away couples because I’m booked 🙁
And also . . . don’t get too hung up on price.
Yes, I know wedding photography is an investment, but you NEED to absolutely love your photos. Period.
This is your wedding day and it cannot be redone! This is not a job for someone inexperienced or for a friend or relative with a “nice camera.” Please, please, trust me on this one!! You definitely won’t regret it!

Since blogging and I are relatively new friends, I wanted to begin recapping some of my favorite sessions & images from 2015. I’d like to start out by featuring Dan & Kelly’s Engagement.
There’s nothing quite like an awesome vintage truck!!
Kelly and Dan will be getting married this August and I can’t say enough great things about them. They are both super awesome people & Kelly has been such a huge supporter of my business. She’s constantly recommending me to people & I’m pretty sure I should just hire her to officially help me with marketing! 😉
This session was a ton of fun and ended in an epic downpour! ….but, I always make the most out of any situation!
Stay tuned for more of my blogging adventures! I will be sharing more sessions from 2015 soon.
If you haven’t booked your Quad Cities Wedding Photographer, we need to talk 😉
Have you decided on your Quad Cities Wedding Photographer for your big day?
Are you looking to “break the mold” for your engagement session?
How about doing an engagement session at night?
Say what!?
A little extra lighting & we can totally rock some awesome shots!
Last year at Shutterfest, (the most awesome photog conference around), I photographed this lovely couple! This is in St. Louis outside of Union Station, and I’m totally hoping someone wants to give this a go here in the QC!
Night Engagement sessions can be added on as a “mini session” for those that still want traditional day-time sessions too 😉
In November, I had the privilege of photographing Carrie & Patrick’s wedding. Not only was the entire day a blast, but they had a great wedding party too!
The day started in the church where all of the girls were busy getting ready. This gave me a chance to snap a few “detail shots.”
After a bit, the girls helped Carrie into her dress & her mom carefully buttoned up the back.
And of course . . . Jewelry . . .
Such a gorgeous bride!!
Then Carrie & Patrick did a letter exchange. (I swear I didn’t cry!)
Then the ceremony! Which was absolutely amazing & had the best music, hands down!
Then it was time for a little fun! (There may or may not have been a bar involved) 😉
And since Carrie & Patrick both ski with the Back Water Gamblers, we knew we just had to grab some shots, (like . . . the photograph kind), at the ski site. We thought we could beat the bus, so Carrie & Patrick jumped in my car (which was hilarious) and we may or may not have sped to make the sunset.
We did alright!
Then it was time for the beautiful reception at Stoney Creek Hotel! Check out these beautiful details!
The speeches were definitely a huge hit . . . and involved poster board . . . and a high school teacher.
And as you would probably guess, the reception was an absolute blast!
Such an awesome day from beginning to end!
I totally have the best job ever!
-Kelly

Such a beautiful venue and I just loved all of the details for Carrie & Patrick’s wedding.
